Klassisches Irish Coffee Rezept

Just like it's served in Irish pubs, you can enjoy this classic Irish Coffee all year round. Make it with a splash of Jameson Irish Whiskey or a hint of Bailey’s Irish Cream. For an extra-special touch, garnish it with edible gold, shamrock sprinkles, or grated chocolate – for a truly refined coffee indulgence.

This original Irish Coffee recipe is perfect for special dinners, St. Patrick’s Day, or the holidays as a delicious after-dinner drink. One of the best ways to unwind on a chilly evening!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (approx. 240 ml) hot, freshly brewed coffee
  • 1 ½ oz (45 ml) Irish whiskey (e.g., Jameson, Bushmills)
  • 1–2 tsp brown sugar (to taste)
  • Lightly whipped cream (for topping)

Preparation:

  1. Pre-warm the glass – Fill a heatproof glass or mug with hot water, let it sit briefly, then pour out the water.
  2. Dissolve the sugar – Pour the hot coffee into the glass and stir in the brown sugar until completely dissolved.
  3. Add the whiskey – Stir in the Irish whiskey.
  4. Top with cream – Lightly whip the cream until thickened but still pourable. Slowly pour it over the back of a spoon so it floats on top of the coffee.
  5. Enjoy – Don’t stir! Drink the Irish Coffee through the layer of cream to enjoy the authentic flavor experience.
